Reflective Statement (550 Words)


My Moi Journey !

The objective this assignment was to develop a business plan for an innovative brand. This assignment aimed at understanding the various aspects that go into starting up a brand from its inception to its actual development including marketing, promotion, financial and human resource activities.
This assignment was our final major project and we were briefed about the same at the start of the semester, I started work on this assignment immediately after the brief by shortlisting products that could form a part of my brand. After careful analysis and great thought I came up with the idea of personalized fragrance for women, as no such concept exists in the UK.
I decided to research on the topic in general in order to understand the fragrance industry and how it functions in general, once I was well versed with the same I came up with my brand name and aesthetics, the movie Marie Antoinette inspired me to a certain extent and help me develop my concept better.
After creating my brand I designed a plan as to how I would proceed with the assignment, I showed the same to my tutor for advice, suggestions and also to know if the idea was innovative and feasible.
Once I had a clear concept I started work on the report, I started off with the financials first as this would form the basis for the rest of the report, followed by the human resource plan and finally basic business concepts and the various marketing strategies. I regularly kept in touch with my tutor and updated him weekly of my progress and discussed my queries. Side by side I also worked on various other aspects of the assignment like making of the promotion Ad. This was the most interesting part of the assignment personally as I really enjoyed coming up with a concept, styling and directing the AD. We were also supposed to blog on a weekly basis, which was another interesting twist for me as this was my first time at it, and I gave my blog a lot of thought to make it innovative, creative and in sync with the aesthetics of my brand
On completion of the assignment I worked hard on the presentation of the assignment, I decided to make the presentation fancy, interesting, appealing and different as well as realistic.
On the whole it was a great experience to work on this assignment, this assignment was very different, interesting as well as challenging at the same time as it was a complete overview of everything covered in the course, it also helped me identify what are my strengths and weaknesses. Moreover this assignment also helped me personally since I now am aware of how to create a professional business plan which will defiantly help me in the future when I plan to establish my own brand. This semester was most definitely my most favorite one since it involved creativity along with a strong academic sensibility. Observations and analysis made during this unit will not only help me in my course study at LCF but will definitely last me a life time.

Week 7 - A Moi Event (Invite)


Finally, Time to Eat Cake !!

Finally !! Moi is ready to be launched (submitted). After all the hard work and fun that it has been  planning and creating all aspects of the brand, it is time to celebrate at Moi's  exclusive launch party of its first store opening in London.

Week 5 - Moi, Cakes, Chocolates & More...

Let them Eat Cake !

This Week Moi travelled to Geneva for the weekend. Geneva, a city well known for delicious sweet delicacies was a great inspiration.
I came across Cakes and Macaroons that were named after the Dauphine of France Marie Antoinette who is also the inspiration for Moi.
This helped me come up with the theme for my promotional AD as well as the Launch Party of the Brand/Store that would be - Let them Eat Cake !
I also managed buying hand made french chocolates that that will be a part of the Press Kit (in the submission) and will be given to the Press along with the Press Release and Invite to the Launch.
Presently, I am in the process of editing the Promotional AD and StoryBoard which I will share with you within a day or two.

Week 4 - I want Candy, I want MOI (Movie Clip)


All that she didn't have was MOI...



Here is a scene from the 2006 release Marie Antoinette movie that I was watching...the movie just reminded me of the Dauphine's love for personalized products and all the effort she made to feel gorgeous and happy surrounding herself with the good things in life - Fashion & Food. 
MOI would aim to make women feel this happy and special too...

From having everything personalized from her shoes to her hairdo, all that was missing was her Personal Fragrance, wonder how excited she would be if she had MOI ? What say ?

Watching the movie also helped me come up with ideas for my Promotion and AD film of MOI which I shall share with you in the coming weeks, so that's about it for this week xxx...until next week, stay in Love with Moiiiii !

Another great Week for MOI ! This Week I came up with the Carry Bag for Moi. It is the Bag in which the Personal Fragrance will be packed and given to customers of the brand. Last Weeks Mood Board helped me design this pretty floral bag with a pearl handle to give it an edge and make head turns when stylish ladies walk down the street after shopping at MOI...This bag will also be used for promotion in which the Press Release and Invite to the Launch Party will be given to the Press. The Mood Board also helps me to further understand the aesthetics and style of my brand and will give a you a better insight into the theme of MOI. Week 1 - Curtain Raiser, MOI (Brand Description)

Lets begin this journey by introducing you to MOI !


MOI is a Personal Fragrance Brand that customizes fragrances for women based on their style, personality and desires. It is a brand inspired by the Dauphine of France, Marie Antoinette.
Marie Antoinette was an elegant flamboyant woman with a charming personality, who believed in going out of her way to make herself feel beautiful. She had a vanity encrypted self-loving outlook towards herself and left no stone unturned in standing out among people of her era.
Marie Antoinette was famous for her exclusivity and passion for personalized products. She had a fetish for all the good things in life, be it food, fashion or fragrance. It was this fetish that inspired the formation of MOI – The Personal Fragrance Brand. This brand will allow women to create perfumes exclusive only to them.

The Brands inception will be in 2013. The brand will carry over 50 scents and allow customers to build an exclusive fragrance of their choice by mixing different scents. Every season the brand will launch new scents that will allow women to have a unique perfume exclusive to their personality, style and mood for every season.
The brand will cater to women who are privileged, on the edge, live for themselves, always in the moment, love themselves and feel beautiful at every hour of the day.
The Key focus of the brand will be to encourage women to build self-confidence within them. Women must take inspiration from Marie Antoinette and learn to love themselves at every point in life, at every stage and every age. The focus of the brand will be to make every woman feel royal and have the privilege of creating a fragrance exclusive only to them.
Women would feel encouraged and confident to bring out their true style and personality, which the brand would then blend with their unique scents and a personalized fragrance would be created for every lady called MOI (Me).

MOI is a brand that aspires to put the self-admiring woman in the spotlight, allowing her to take over the world and fall in love with MOI…(herself)
